Embossing
Embossing is a process of carving, moulding or stamping on a surface or object so that it stands out in relief. When creating our embossings we cut shapes into cardboard and plastics that when put through the print machine acted like a stamp leaving relief print on the different types of papers we used. I created a fern design within the cardboard, used the plastic to play about with square shapes and experimented with a piece of lace. We used a variety of different white papers and this gave a delicate, lace like quality to the pieces. It was rather difficult to cut the shapes into the cardboard but I enjoyed it none the less and am pleased with my outcomes.
