Studio practice

 Initial photography   

As a task to generate ideas and inspiration i collected together some objects from previous projects and took them down to the photography studio to create images from them. When collecting together the objects i tried to think about which would create interesting shadows, choosing objects with little details like the rib space in the skeleton toy and the lace on the doll pants. The photography studio was a functional space to take these photos as the bright photography lights worked as a good direct light source to create crisp defined shadows against the clean white backdrop. This activity also helped me to get a better understanding of how light casts the shadows due to the physicality of holding the objects and moving against the light source and seeing how the shadows distorted with movement.
