Varnish Shadows
So after feeling a little disheartened with where my paintings were at I tried to think of a way to bring them back too a place I was happy with, I liked the look of the varnish and the idea behind the white but just not how it looked so I decided to just continue with this idea of layering shadows but this time just with the thick varnish. This really took me back a few steps to my idea of chasing the light and I became really fascinated in documenting this. So each day I remembered I went back to the same two spots, 10 minutes later than the time before and captured how the shadow moved slightly across the painting with quick large brushstrokes of varnish. Although I really loved the effects of the varnish shadows and how even though they were clear they were still clearly defined with the texture, this still did not fix the issue I was having with the original white shadow id put down like I hoped it would.
