Portrait

 New project - Portrait  

Nottingham castle have a gallery of portraits where the sitter is unknown, for this project we are instructed to each create a response to one of the portraits. Our responses will be exhibited at the gallery in the castle.  

The portrait I have decided to work with and create a response to is For sale, 1857 by James Collinson. I was drawn to the painting for the background full of objects and the big bow. The idea of a portrait scared me slightly so the objects made me feel more at ease, I like working with physical objects and of course just personally loving a bow as a style and decorative choice.
