Painting colour-way plan
I'm currently also working on an A4 painting of my own bedside table, a self portrait. I've used the first image of my bedside table as I thought it was the first image that kind of spurred on the idea of this project, so to me made sense. For this piece I plan to use the bright fun colour scheme I'm familiar with, a mix of pinks, oranges, yellows and blues.
To begin with I felt a kind of block on where I should be placing my colours and the different tones, I think this is just because I'm slightly out of practice with painting recently. To combat this I changed the original image to black and white and edited it to bring out the tones more, then digitally drew on top of the image to find where the colours fit best. Obviously its just roughly drawn on top, to help me plan out the painting rather than looking perfect. The red colour will be a more orange coloured paint and I plan to bring out more of the yellow in the highlights.
