Mini book making practice 1

To make use of the images from my own bedside table documentation I've decided to make a small little image book. I've researched a few different ways of making small mini books and have decided to try out one of the process's. The book will be 60mm x 50mm, to get consistent squares for the pages I found online people used old passport photo cutter machines.

For this first practice i followed a video id seen on instagram, it was an easy and quick way to make a little book but for what im aiming to make i found it to not be durable enough. As im using the paper cutter and making the book so small i don't want to sew the pages together. Sewing the pages together is the mainstream traditional way of putting a book together but due to the size i thought it would just be too fidley and take away a lot of the already small page size. So this process i found only used glue and tape on the spine edge, i thought this would be the perfect solution but it actually ended up turning out like those note books with easy tear pages, so this process did work for making a kind of book but isn't suitable for the type of photo book im aiming for. After seeing how this book practice turned out ive come to the conclusion id like to make the book a hardcover as its so small I think if I were to make it paper back it could end up looking a little naff and resemble the tiny novelty notebooks for kids which i want to avoid.
