 Cover Title letter stamping

When creating this book and binding the cover I hadn't given much thought about what id do for a Title, I kind of assumed id just leave it blank but after seeing the finished tester the lack of title just made the book look like a little bound notebook until you look inside and realise there's images. I didn't want to paint or write on the title I thought no matter how neat I painted it could look out of sink with the rest of the book. My first thought was to screen print the title, this would make clean consistent text but the screen id need making would be so tiny and I didn't really want to use space within someone else's screen as it just seemed like a lot of work for such a tiny part of the book. It was suggested that I use letter stamps to stamp in the title into the cover and gold leaf into it after, having seen stamped titles on other hardback art books I thought this the best process to try out. I went over to the print room kind of on a whim like 10 minutes after discussing the idea so I hadn't thought about what the title actually would be, I just went with the original title of Table self, this reiterates the fact the two different books are part of the same project but I still may change the title when doing the finale book but I'm still unsure. The process itself was very easy and simple, you have the metal letters on the end of a wooden stick that you just hit with a strange hammer. The bits I found difficult were more just because of myself rather than the actual stamping process, before starting I was already conscious of my spelling as I know its not always great but what I didn't realise is that all the letters would be inverted, I mean it makes sense because it prints the correct way but being dyslexic it really took me awhile to get my head around. One thing I do need to remember for the next book is to either stamp the page before attaching the text block or put a piece of foam between them as to only stamp the cover and not damage the pages. Overall, this was a relatively easy process, successful in achieving what I was aiming for so ill be using it on the finale book.
