Exhibition presentation plan

When thinking about the presentation for the exhibition in the castle I wasn't to sure about how my book would fit into the ideal group plan for the slanted plinth. My book logistically fitted in with the plan with size and such bur it just felt a little flat and lost on it, I also knew I was creating another book so had to think about where that could possibly be placed so they still felt connected and not like two separate pieces of work. In the past when we set up exhibitions or have been to others to view, its always been a very white space, yet the room well be exhibiting in this time has grey/blue walls and work already in place, with it being the castle the room has more of a vibe of stately home rather than the clinical gallery spaces we've been used to. Because of this it was said that ideally all the slanted plinths would stay unpainted, I understood this because of the aim to keep all the presentation consistent and avoiding any badly done painting but the raw MDF was just something to get my head round as it was something I wasn't used to. To combat this we came up with the plan to still make use of the slanted plinth but to connect two of them together back to back to make a kind of double sided book plinth. I liked this plan because it not only brings together the two books into one space but it also gets rid of my worries around the appearance of the MDF, before I felt like my book looked a little aimless and lost within the natural brown colour, now I feel like it actual does the opposite and adds something to the work, I believe the double viewing aspect gives the plinth a communal library like feel which feeds into and compliments the work.
