Studio practice

On Tuesday I met up with a friend and we did a bit work together. Her names Amélia, shes an illustration student at NTU but also works at a large makeup store. She came up to the studio and did my makeup and we took some photos for her own portfolio. When doing the makeup look I gave all creative choices over to Amélia, my only input was that it had to relate back to the leaves in someway, she drew illustrative styled leaves coming of a green 60s like eye look, getting rid of my eyebrows and making me quite bronzed to relate back to an earthy leaf like look. I found it really fun, I loved the funky eyeliner and no eyebrows, I mean its defiantly far from my normal makeup look, usually I like to have quite pale skin and eyeliners something I've avoided just because of unsteady hands but it was fun to be something different for the day and think she did an amazing job. Later that day after we'd eaten and such Amélia accompanied me in my leaf sewing in various locations and helped document some.
I've found recently when I'm doing any kind of art work or performative action its easier to almost become someone else, its helped with my nerves and worries about what people could think because when I'm doing work or something maybe a bit odd I'm no longer Elle, I'm someone else, at the minute I'm leaf person. The train home was super busy that day, I had this loud makeup on and was covered in leaves, I got a few odd looks but this thinking meant it didn't bother me. And I must say I have not lost my mind, I'm quite aware I'm still the same person its just my way of looking at it.
