Studio practice

 Coat hanger experimentation  

Originally my thought for the willow coat hangers was to just create a few then choose the best to display my leaf suit on. Id taken them into the studio early last week along with some other wooden hangers I already had. Over the course of that week we began thinking about moving things in the studio and starting to clean up, I knew I needed the hangers so just hung them up on the wall to free up space. Over the next few days I realised I quite liked the way they were hung, they make an interesting  piece on there own when mixed with the premade hangers. I think this could work well presented with my frames and leaf suit, it has a more three dimensional quality to it which I think could add more depth and interest to the quite flat work. I still want to use one of the willow hangers to display the leaf outfit so I'm thinking of trying to make some cardboard hangers to fill the space, I think this will work as the difference between the pre made hangers and the self made ones should lean into my idea of my own varying quality within my work.
