Inspiration
Over the Summer holidays I visited a variety of places in the hopes of gaining some ideas and inspiration for my next projects.
Cornelia Parker at The Eden project
Cornelia Parker. ‘Sixes and sevens’ at The Eden project
This piece was refreshing to watch. A group of young kids asked about the future. Leaving it I truly believe parliament should have a cabinet of primary school children to bring perspective to adults. I was interested in how this piece was displayed, like a piece I have seen previously, these videos were projected onto large stretched canvas’s. When thinking forward to the final show, if I am to use video again I think this could be an approach to presentation that I may adopt.
Rebecca Horn at Tate St Ives
Rebecca Horn, ‘Performances I I’, 1973 and ‘Unicorn’, 1968-9 at Tate, St Ives
To see a Rebecca Horn piece in person honestly was a dream come true. My past projects have been highly inspired by Horn’s performance work. I was stood there for about an hour , almost fangirl-ing. Basically it left me in awe and inspired to create.
