Chicken shop date
Chicken shop date is a YouTube interview show by Amelia Dimoldenberg. The show first began in 2014 with an interview with the grime artist Ghetts, at this time she was also studying fashion journalism at Central saint Martins. Dimoldenberg interviews or 'dates' celebrity figures over a meal in a chicken shop, these interviews have captured the internet due to their alternative nature. Dimoldenburg began chicken shop date by exploring and interviewing the Uk grime scene but has since moved on to a wider range of celebrities and public figures like Louis Theroux and Cher. I believe the interest in Dimoldenberg's "dates" has come from unapologetically awkward nature and approach towards small talk with celebrities. Dimoldenburg uses dry and slightly self deprecating humour to bring out a less media trained side of these large stars, coaxing out niche bits of information that is usually guarded from us, for example she spent almost the whole interview with ghetts about his love of cats. I believe Dimoldenbergs chicken shop date to be applicable as inspiration for this project due the way Dimoldenberg plays with perception and portrays information.
