Studio practice
On Monday I went down to ceramics and demoulded my plaster slab casts. I'm happy with the results of this workshop, other than the use of bathroom objects it doesn’t really fit into my project too much but non the less I found it a good activity to get to know and work with the newer students. Also I always enjoying getting to create something with my hands, using tactile process's is cathartic. The teeth imprints worked better than I assumed they would, biting and pressing my teeth into the clay was probably my favourite part as weird as that sounds, like an impulsive urge I actually got to try. The texture of pulling my teeth away has left it with a bumpy surface, the teeth look kind of decaying but I don't really mind that. The shape of the large slab looks almost like a gravestone or shrine, a shrine to the bathroom self, I like that idea.
