Image tiling
Recently my tutor suggested to try image tiling as a way to print images large scale cheaply for the final show. Image tiling is dividing an image into multiple pages of smaller paper, these can be put together to create the large image. The idea that was suggested to me was to paste a large image onto a board and have it free standing some way, Print the images in black and white on coloured paper; I like this idea and will try to achieve it. I tested an image with a width of 1 meter to see how the process worked, it was easy to do the image tiling but i forgot one of the most simple printing settings and printed it all double sided. This meant i lost parts of the image yet i don't feel the need to repeat as i understand the process, i just need to remember to check all the settings before printing the final piece. To make the boards free standing, i thought of this idea of triangle feet that would slot into the bottom of the boards, this is something i will have to check with Don. Before starting the final piece i need to measure i board to make sure i have the correct dimensions and get the feet made.
