- Images of the signs acting as scatter cushions in bed. Some images including Miss Hazel (the cat) and myself. The images of the signs acting as scatter cushions really give of this comforting feel, they look like the soft cushions they are but the texts feels wrong and displaced, which was what i was going for to begin with. The baseball bat to begin with was unintentional, that's just where it lives but linked well with the ideas so stayed. One of the images had a much colder light so when mixed with the baseball bat and and stern text it does create an ominous cold feeling but the other despite having the same content, the lightings much warmer it feels more comforting.
The images with myself give of slightly different ideas. The photos are less about myself personally, I am just a place holder, a character, stop sign person. I wanted stop sign person to be female and I'm all I had available at the time. These images kind of give a fictional form to the ideas, represent the wider female. I've kind of looked at the ideas of the traditional female through the cleaning aspect but these images give ideas more of the angry female in a wider sense. These images make me think she's saying stop to it all. I think she perhaps represents the more modern female. With the messy bed and relaxed clothes it gives a kind of pissed off "I'm staying here and not doing any of it". Although I think with the bat, cold lighting and stern text it could also give of ideas around rape culture, this is something id take further as it definitely resonates with the feminist ideas in the work so far but there isn't enough time left to explore it fully.
